Happy New Year!!
Looking back on Christmas, I found that out of all the gifts Leah received there are three that were the biggest hits.
First was a set of Magnetics from her Uncle Robert. I know, they are not recommended for young kids because of the chocking hazard, but Leah is at the age that we don’t have to be so concerned about that. She just loves to build with these things. At night, after Leah has snuggled down to sleep, our foreign exchange student plays with them. Each morning we wake up to an elaborate creation (a mini two story house, slide and little swing set to name just a few). Any toy that keeps a preschooler AND teenager happy for hours on end is a winner in my book!
The Giggle Gear Mega Mask by Cranium and the portable air hockey/pinball machine have also been getting a lot of use lately.
Some of my gifts included two really great knitting books from my parents and also a scanner from my husband. As soon as we get it hooked up I can then scan in some of my scrapbooking pages I worked on while at that scrapbooking retreat in November.

Happy New Year. I think I want some of those Magnetics!
Great toys!!! I’m looking forward to seeing those scrapbook pages you mentioned! Happy New Year!!!
We got the magnet set like that too….I’m finding those magnetic balls all over the house now!
We have that air hockey /pinball table too. It’s also used by a regular 18 yo visitor to our bode. Great toy!
Jr. and Didi have had the Magnetix for years and I even let Darrian play with them, but only in front of me. Anyway Damian is sitting behind me right now playing with his. They are a toy that lasts. We also started out with the portable air hockey, soon you will have to move up to the big one. Then it becomes a toy everyone can use. I love the air hockey table. I don’t know if it was bought more for me or them.
Hi Steph! Happy New Years!!!
That’s going to be my next post… projects I hope to tackle in 2007. Don’t you just love all the possibilities of a fresh new year?
I don’t even knit(yet!) and I loved the Knitting for Peace book. Since I spend a lot of time sitting around at craft sales, knitting would help me keep busy. A friend is going to start giving me lessons this month(say a prayer for her LOL).
I love the idea of a “crafting resolution”. I might try it. I want to learn how to sew moe complicated things. I would love how to knit, but I really can’t take on another hobby right now. BTW, if you make that dress, Gracie wears a 3 t and I would pay a lot for it!!!I want to keep up on my scrapbook and maybe try making a doll…
Happy New Year!
Lisa
Maybe someday I’ll actually learn how to knit. I LOVE the felted Sophie Bags…they are so cute. I think I’m going to order the Plush-o-Rama book. I’ve been sewing since before high school and want to make the moopy bunny and the loud pants pup…just adorable with the perfect amount of goofyness!
My son loves his magnetix. IT’s kept him occupied for at least 20 minutes on one occassion (and trust me…that’s rare!). I like the air hockey game….I think we need one of those.
